Description
Captured at an angle from the upper left in this photograph, the Starflash model was made in the United States and France from 1957 to 1965 and resembled the popular, handheld-sized portable transistor radios of the time. This blue version was made between March 1958 and August 1962--truly a bit of midcentury modern design. The Starflash used 127 film in a square format and M-2 flashbulbs (one of which is shown inserted in the flashbulb holder), and was made in black, white, red, and blue (shown here), as well as a special two-tone edition with a Coca-Cola logo on it. The original selling price was $8.50. This handsome compact camera featured a built-in flash and a Dakon lens, and was designed by Arthur H. Crapsey, noted designer of many of Kodak's popular midcentury cameras.
