Description
This photograph by contemporary artist/photographer Jon Woodhams shows a vintage Minolta XG-1 The XG-1 is a 35mm SLR film camera that was manufactured by Minolta between 1977 and 1984. It was part of the XG series of cameras that were designed for amateur photographers who wanted to use the aperture priority mode. The XG-1 was a lower-priced alternative to the more advanced XG-7, but it still had some features like the “Touch Switch” system, which activated the camera’s electronics when the user touched the shutter release button. It was one of the first cameras to use a quartz-timed electronic shutter, which ensured accurate exposure times.
